Object Detection

SmartVision is an intelligent video surveillance system with motion detection recording functionality. A modern and efficient solution for video surveillance, allowing the recording of only important moments due to motion detection. This technology is perfect for low-activity locations, such as offices outside of working hours, homes when owners are absent, or elevator halls.

The system automatically starts recording only when motion is detected in the frame, significantly saving disk space and reducing the load on equipment.

Enabling Motion and Object Detection

In the IP camera settings, there is a section called "Motion" and "Detection". Here, you can enable and configure the motion detector parameters. Motion detection recording is a smart approach to video surveillance.

Motion Detection Recording

If the monitored area is rarely used or experiences little movement, motion detection recording is the optimal solution. It allows the system's resources to be conserved and only records genuinely important moments.
This approach is particularly useful in low-activity areas, such as:
  • Elevator halls
  • Offices outside of working hours
  • Apartments or houses when the owners are not at home
In these cases, there is no need to continuously record an empty space. The camera will start recording only when motion is detected in the frame.

Advantages of Motion Detection Recording
  • Disk space savings: Only important events are recorded, minimizing storage volume.
  • Reduced system load: The processor and network work more efficiently, as there's no need to process a continuous data stream.
  • Quick access to important moments: All events can be easily reviewed in the "Events" section.
How to Configure the Motion Detector
In the "Advanced Options" section, you can set the following:
  • Motion detector sensitivity: The setting ranges from 0 (minimal sensitivity) to 1 (maximum sensitivity).
  • Motion detection area: You can define the specific area of the frame where motion should be detected.
  • Recording duration after detection: By default, the camera records for 15 seconds, but this can be easily changed.
Operational Features
Motion detection and event recording require CPU and hard drive resources. Therefore, when connecting many cameras, it's important to pre-calculate the system parameters to avoid overload.
Who Should Use Continuous Recording?
If cameras are installed in areas with constant activity, such as shopping malls or busy streets, continuous recording is recommended. This reduces the load on the processor, as there's no need for frequent start and stop of recording.
Motion detection recording is a flexible solution that helps save resources and simplifies video surveillance management.

Object Detection Using Machine Vision in SmartVision

If you activated motion detection on the previous tab, you can also configure object detection using machine vision technologies. This allows the system to not only detect motion but also recognize specific objects in the frame, such as faces, vehicles, and other important elements.

To enable object detection, select the "Use object detection" option. When this feature is activated, the system will analyze the image in real-time and detect objects only if the motion detector is triggered. This ensures more accurate recognition and minimizes false alarms.
How Object Detection Works
  1. Motion detection trigger – The system starts analyzing the frame to identify objects.
  2. Object recognition – Using machine vision, the system identifies objects such as faces, license plates, or other predefined elements based on the settings.
  3. Event recording – When an object related to an event is detected, the recording will be saved, providing accurate information about what is happening.
This feature is especially useful in places where it's important not only to capture motion but also to identify specific objects, such as perimeter security, vehicle tracking, or access control.

Motion Detector Events

The first button on the main page of the program is "Events".
In this section, you will find all recordings related to motion detector triggers, as well as the detection of objects such as faces and vehicle license plates, along with triggers from smoke and fire detectors.
For convenience, a filtering function is available to help search for events.
You can adjust the search parameters to quickly find the required records by time, event type, or other criteria.
The event form also displays information about file uploads to the cloud server if video transfer is set up for the selected camera. This allows you to monitor the data-saving process and ensure that all recordings are successfully uploaded to the cloud server.
The Events form provides a convenient interface for managing all video recordings and monitoring important events.

Key Advantages of SmartVision:
  • Resource Optimization: Recording occurs only for events, excluding unnecessary data and saving disk space.
  • Flexible Detector Settings: Users can adjust sensitivity, select detection areas, and set recording duration after detection.
  • Time Savings: The entire event archive is available in the convenient "Events" section, simplifying the search for specific recordings.
  • Compatibility with Any IP Camera: Support for RTSP and HTTP streaming makes the system versatile.
If your task is to monitor areas with minimal activity, SmartVision provides a reliable and cost-effective solution. For areas with high activity, such as shopping malls or streets, the system also supports continuous recording to maintain the highest video quality.
